Chris Marker is a French artist, filmmaker, and writer whose most famous film, La Jetée, greatly influenced later artists. Peter Blum Gallery in New York is holding an exhibition of Marker's photographs to mark the centenary of his birthday, showing different periods of his work. Marker's portraits, taken between the 1950s and 2010s, are scenes from the daily lives of North Koreans in the post-war years, street protests in France and the United States, and marker photographs on the subway.
